BookFair
Thanks to all my bookfair helpers.  We sold $5000  plus in books.  The library got more  $500 of new books and the PTO earned just over  $1000.00.  Thank you again to all that helped out and also to those that came in to visit and purchase books.

Library
Each week, classes come to visit the library.  They have an opportunity to select their books and check out.  Kindergarten students can check out one book. First grade will check out one book for the first semester.  They will be able to start checking out two books at the beginning of the second semester.Second-Fifth grades can check out two books.  In order to check out new books, students must return the books they have already checked out.  A library cart will be in the classroom on library day.  Teachers remind students to put their library books in the cart before it goes to the library to be checked in.  There is also the library drop right outside the library door and students are reminded that they can drop their book(s) off any day of the week.

Please do not purchase a book and send it in.  We use library bound books.  These books do cost more but they are specially designed to hold up under the stress of being read numerous times each year.

New web based AR
If you want to know if a book you have at home or are thinking about purchasing has an AR test go to AR Bookfinder.  http://www.arbookfind.com/default.aspx .
Water Bottles
Please be aware that our library is losing more and more books due to leaking or spilled water bottles in student backpacks.  Books rarely dry out so that they may be placed back on the shelves for student check-out, and tight budgets mean choosing between new titles in the library or book replacements.  Please consider sending water bottles to school empty and filling them at the drinking fountains to prevent this unfortunate situation.  Thank you!
